While our toddler pulled on my leg this morning , she repeated ” MOM I NEED YOU!” over and over, as I was trying to make freaking MUFFINS for everyone. Heaven forbid I do anything without her on my hip. Don’t get me wrong, I love her. But I soon began singing this little tune.
It lovingly comes from the Matt Maher song, ” LORD I NEED YOU.”
So, with that I wrote a Toddler’s version of Lord I need you.
“Mom, I come, I confess
pulling on your leg, here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the One that gives me the baths.“Mom, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My Goldfish mess, my tantrum audience
Oh Mom, how I need YouWhere poop runs deep Your wipes are more
Where chaos is found is where You are
And where You are, Mom, I am there.
Your toilet time is holy to me.Mom, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My go to girl, my safe stronghold when Dad punishes me,
Oh Mom, how I need YouTeach my temper to subdue when you bribe me,
When toys come my way
And when I cannot share I’ll fall on You
Mom, You’re my hope and human tissue.Mom, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one snot wiper , my running partner, away from you,
Oh Mom, how I need YouYou’re my one macaroni maker, even when I change my mind.
Oh Mom, how I need a cheese stick.
My one defense, my Nazi naptime instructor
Oh Mom, how I love you. Only when I get what I want. “If you love it , hit the share button bellow. Toddlers are hard. And cute. And so hard.
